Assessment
A former teacher, Adesina won the 9 January 1999 election with 67.47% of the vote (454,680 of 693,349 valid votes), succeeding Kolapo Ishola of the SDP. He governed Oyo from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2003 with Iyiola Oladokun as deputy, completing the term before losing re-election. He died on 11 November 2012.
