Promised to tackle the farmer-herder crisis by reclaiming grazing reserves and reopening cattle routes.

Approved the use of all seven gazetted grazing reserves (Awe, Keana, Dorna, Assakio, Konva, Gitata and Kurudu) for a proposed ranching programme and directed efforts to reclaim encroached reserves, though farmer-herder tensions persisted across the North-Central region through the tenure.

Promised improved roads and commercial infrastructure across Nasarawa State.

Constructed over 200km of asphalt township roads and more than 600km of rural roads across the three senatorial districts, initiated an international cargo airport in Lafia, and developed modern markets including the Lafia Ultra-Modern Market.

Promised free medical services for the state's most vulnerable groups.

Introduced free medical service for pregnant women and children under five, alongside construction, renovation and equipping of hospitals and primary healthcare centres, including model hospitals in Akwanga, Lafia and Nasarawa.

Campaigned on accountable, transparent governance.

In July 2021 the EFCC arrested Al-Makura and his wife over alleged breach of trust and misappropriation of funds during his eight-year governorship, tied to roughly 55 accounts controlled by the couple and their companies that received suspicious deposits from businesses alleged to have held state contracts; his son was separately questioned in 2022 over a suspicious ₦130 million property purchase.
