Allegation
The federal government confirmed Amosun illegally imported 1,000 AK-47 rifles and about 2 to 4 million rounds of ammunition, along with 1,000 bulletproof vests and an armoured personnel carrier, stored at a secret armoury in Government House; he held only an approved duty waiver for 13 armoured personnel carriers for police use (granted in 2012), with no end-user certificate for the rifles or ammunition as required by law for such imports.
Outcome / Status
Amosun confessed to and surrendered the stockpile to the state Commissioner of Police hours before his tenure ended in May 2019; no publicly confirmed prosecution followed.

A Justice Ayo Salami-led investigative panel found that then-EFCC chairman Ibrahim Magu had directed operatives not to investigate corruption allegations against Amosun (and separately, ex-Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso).
