Allegation
The EFCC investigated Dickson over allegations of abuse of office and misappropriation of ₦32.5 billion in Bayelsa State funds during his eight-year governorship, alongside claims he failed to fully declare posh UK properties.
Outcome / Status
A Federal High Court in Yenagoa granted a perpetual injunction barring the EFCC from prosecuting Dickson and his family trust, ruling that the assets in question had been acquired with loans while he was a House of Representatives member, declared to the Code of Conduct Bureau, and issued a certificate of verification.
Administration's response
Dickson called the petition frivolous, saying his family investments through Seriake Dickson Trust Incorporated predated his governorship, having been made between 1996 and 2012 and funded through loans repaid from his salary, allowances and savings.
