Allegation
The EFCC charged Doma, former Secretary to the State Government Timothy Anthony Anjide, and former Accountant-General Dauda Egwa on a 10-count charge alleging they conspired to fraudulently launder roughly ₦8 billion in state funds between January 2007 and December 2009, contrary to the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2004; some contemporary media reports cited a higher figure of around ₦15 billion at the time of Doma's arrest and remand.
Outcome / Status
The trial proceeded for years, with the EFCC closing its case after presenting its ninth witness in mid-2016; Doma died in 2018 at age 75 before a final verdict was publicly confirmed.
