Allegation
The EFCC charged Jang and a former cashier in the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Yusuf Pam, on a 17-count charge alleging criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of ₦6.3 billion released by the Central Bank of Nigeria for disbursement to small and medium enterprises under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund, allegedly diverted two months before the end of Jang's tenure in 2015.
Outcome / Status
A Plateau State High Court, in a judgment by Justice Christy Dabup delivered 2 September 2022, discharged and acquitted both Jang and Pam of all charges; the EFCC said it would appeal the acquittal.
Administration's response
Jang contested the charges throughout and was fully acquitted at trial.
