A veteran journalist and former managing director of the Daily Times and the Nigerian Herald, Osoba was elected governor of Ogun State on the SDP platform in 1991.
Assessment
The term was cut short after about 22 months by the November 1993 dissolution. Osoba returned as elected governor of Ogun from 1999 to 2003.
